Is PCS photography a thing?

There is something bittersweet about military life. Just when a house starts to feel like home, it's time to pack the boxes and get ready for the next adventure.


That is exactly why Jessica wanted this session.


Instead of waiting until everything was unpacked at the next duty station, Jessica chose to remember the home where so many everyday moments happened. The walls may not move with them, but the memories always will.


This documentary session wasn't about perfect outfits or picture-perfect poses. It was about real life. There were moving boxes, rooms slowly becoming empty, and little reminders of the life this family built together. Every box packed held another memory. Every room had a story to tell.


Military families know that home isn't always one place. Home is the people you love. It is bedtime stories, laughter in the kitchen, toys scattered across the floor, and hugs before another busy day. Those are the moments worth remembering.


As I photographed Jessica and her family, I couldn't help but think about how many chapters military families live through together. They learn to say goodbye, make new friends, and create a home wherever the Army sends them. It isn't always easy, but it is a beautiful kind of strength.


One day, these photos will remind Jessica's family of more than just a house. They'll remember the excitement of a new beginning, the memories they made within these walls, and the love that filled every room before the next move.


It was such an honor to document this season for the Brown family. Thank you for trusting me with these memories before you closed one chapter and started another. I hope these images always bring you back to this place and remind you that home has never been just an address—it has always been each other.
