What Baseball Feels Like

There are few things that feel as much like summer as a baseball field.

It's the sound of cleats crunching across gravel and the smell of fresh-cut grass mixed with sunscreen and popcorn. It's folding chairs lined up along the fence and grandparents arriving early just to get a good seat. It's younger siblings asking, for the third time, "How much longer?" while digging through the snack bag.

It's the anticipation before the first pitch.

The collective gasp when a fly ball hangs in the air.

The unmistakable crack of a bat connecting perfectly with the ball.

The cheers that follow.

Baseball is a game, but it's also so much more than that.

More Than a Sport

For children, baseball becomes a classroom disguised as a field.

Every practice teaches patience. Every inning teaches focus. Every missed catch becomes an opportunity to try again.

Unlike many things in life, baseball doesn't promise instant success. It asks players to show up repeatedly, even when they strike out. Especially when they strike out.

Children learn that mistakes are not the end of the story.

A missed ground ball teaches resilience.

A difficult season teaches perseverance.

A hard-earned hit teaches confidence.

Little by little, these lessons leave the field and follow them home.

The Ordinary Moments We'll Miss Someday

One day the season will end.

The uniforms will be outgrown.

The schedules won't revolve around practice nights.

The younger sibling who keeps asking how much longer will eventually stop asking.

The child stepping up to the plate will grow taller, older, and more independent.

But long after the final game, we'll remember how it felt.

The smell of popcorn drifting across the field.

The chatter from the dugout.

The crack of a home run.

The cheers from the bleachers.

The feeling of everyone gathering together for something simple and meaningful.

Because baseball isn't only about learning how to play a game.

It's about learning how to keep showing up.

For your team.

For your family.

For yourself.

And years from now, when the details begin to blur, it may not be the scores we remember most.

It will be the feeling of sitting in the bleachers on a warm evening, surrounded by the people we love, watching childhood unfold one inning at a time. ⚾️

Extras:

I've been a professional photographer for nearly 11 years now. Just b/c I like the vintage nostalgia vibe, but that doesn't mean everyone does.

IF you know you like a solid clean, vibrant edit, with true to life colors     I can do that too. I'll trade you for a cup of coffee, Dr. Pepper or a few bucks for the time to re-do it.

You can also purchase the digital full size for prints for just $5.00 a photo for individual use only.

Not too bad for not hiring anyone to take pro images for you.
