Lake and Brock Aldridge are truly impressive individuals! These brothers are beyond talented. They gave me lesson on archery yesterday.
I asked Lake if I could "shoot him shooting" and he gave me a strange look and just shook his head. Later I learned he had to ask him mom what the heck I was talking about. Our lingo wasn't exactly the same in the term "shoot".
Meet Lake Aldridge...a 14 year old from Mulhall, Oklahoma. Lake attend selection camp for the USA Archery Junior Dream Team in Chula Vista, CA in November 2016. He went to work with the best coaches in the country, and learn everything he could, never expecting to make the team. He was so excited when the news came that he was on the team. It's a team of 35 young archers ages 12-18. They have intense training schedules, and stay very dedicated to the sport. Lake has the privilege of representing his country and proudly wears USA on his back at competitions. He also works with the best coaches in the country to continue working towards his dreams. He recently earned his bronze Olympian Pin.
Younger brother Brock, age 11, is building his own name as an archer!
Brock Aldridge chooses to compete as a barebow archer. He likes the simplest bow, which also makes it the most difficult to shoot. He has no stabilizers, or sights. He has done very well this year winning several competitions. At USA Archery Outdoor Nationals in Indianapolis, IN he won the national title. He brought home 3 medals in all including a silver medal in qualifications, gold in team rounds, and a gold medal in eliminations. He also won the National title at the NFAA Outdoor Target Championships in Yankton, SD. We are now making the transition to indoor season, and will start competing again in a couple weeks.
